Title: boycote brunswick
Post by: bowler851 on February 25, 2010, 01:04:04 AM
They moved there plant to mexico costing americans jobs so they can save money at the expense of putting out an inferior product. Alot of ball from mexico come with mis-marked CG and MB and should be blems but are not because on the surface the look right and mexico dose not have quality control. I recently got a mojave that was mad by brunswick at the mexico plant was not a blem but CG and MB were both mis-marked on the ball and before you all say that is one ball I have seen numerous brunswick ball will a lot of the same issues.

I have used brunswick balls for quite a few years now, and have seen the double punched CGs on their balls that were made in Mexico.  The CG being off by less than 1/4" shouldn't make too much of a difference when drilling.  But, I have never seen a mis-marked MB.  How would you know that the MB was mis-marked on a ball?  Do you have a picture of the mis-marked MB?  I will continue to buy their equipment because they make quality balls that work as well as the other manufacturers.

What's a boycote?

Why didn't you have the ball returned for defect?

no thanks here also, in our shop, the Brunswick's seem to resist cracking and
have longer coverstock life, and the 3.5 system is among the best.

You do realize they kept the offices and design here in the states and kept as many jobs as possible, if they would have stayed here they would have probably folded and that would sure be worse than moving to Mexico as it would have costed all the employees their jobs.

I was bitter at first but am well over it. Just think of how much stuff you own or buy is actually made in the States? Not much, do you golf? If so are you boycotting the club makers because they are done overseas?

I'm tired of this dumb beef, no company is perfect and you should try dealing with them instead of bashing online, i guarantee they would stand behind their product if just you contacted them.

/rant

P.S. i have no affiliation with brunswick and do not own any of their equipment, i'm not biased in any manner

Yeah Brunswick!!!!

Do whatever is best so I can have something to bowl with. I'd rather you pay legal mexicans in Mexico then illegal Mexicans here.

You aren't aloud to complain if you're English is worse than the Mexicans making the balls.  Sorry.

Yeah, there's been issues with the Siege.  I've posted about how poorly mine hooks and have seen similar stories on here as well.

That said, I haven't had any problems with Morich balls poured in Mexico.

any truth to the mismarking? has anyone spun a couple on the determinator to see if the mb was correct. ive seen a couple storm balls that werent x-outs that were mismarked too though. i think every company is gonna have some leak out there like that

This didn't just happen yesterday so where have you been?  I highly doubt you know whether the CG or MB is mismarked.  I haven't really seen any and I drill a ton of B balls.  When they were taken out of the factory in Muskeegan they had to build a new factory somewhere, why not Mexico.  It's better causing 100 people losing jobs than 500 right?  I can't understand why people still get their jollies on stirring the pot and talking crap. If you don't like the balls or their company then you don't have to throw them. Plain and simple. The newer equipment is some of the best balls I've ever thrown.

By the way thanks to Hammer for all the Jigsaw x-outs and Storm for all the Furiouses mismarked. I love buying balls for less than half price. It's part of the business, every company has that. Get over it!

bowler851, allow me to address your concerns one at a time:

first of all, does your computer have a spell-check feature ?  if so, please use that function.

secondly, the bowling ball division of brunswick would have gone bankrupt had they not moved production to mexico. three people who post on this website, brunsbob, rico, and verbs, either worked for brunswick or are still employed by them, will tell you this to be true.

third, i have owned nothing but brunswick equipment since 1995 i have not noticed any difference in quality control regardless where the bowling balls have been made.

and last but not least. if you are an example of what a "real american" is because you stand on your soapbox and scream "buy american" then i'm ashamed to call myself a citizen of this country...........
