Bruiser for light oil?

I was wonderin if a Monster bruiser would be ok to use on lighter mediums when my sling blade is rolling to early and my x factor is hooking to hard..

I here it needs dry to work and that it goes pretty long..Specs are in profile..

I was wonderin about like pin over bridge cg under ring or so?

P.s. I was lookin at the slayr and leftside uses it but i dont want something that doesnt hook period..And he can get it to move but im worried i wont..So im thinkin bruiser.. But i dont know anyone with imput? Thanks

I think if you leave the coverstock in its original condition (factory high gloss polish), it will probably be usable on drier lanes...the PK18 coverstock is pretty aggresive even with the gloss polish.  If you dull the coverstock any at all, it will start hooking early and often on dry lanes...definitely need oil if you decide to dull the surface.

Well i planned on putting some polish on it for sure and drillin it sorta week...Its just i heard the frenzy moved pretty early and was pretty strong and the slayr like just flat out dont move..LOL..So i was thinkin oh the bruiser drilled sorta week with some polish on it.

OHHH trust me, the SlayR on dry DEFFINITLY moves, shoot, I can get the SlayR to move better then some of my other balls on medium conditions with slower speed and normal amount of revs (for me any ways)

A friend of mine has the Slay/r, drilled pattern 4L on Brunswick's website.  It definitely moves on dry conditions, anything resin will.  I like the reaction he gets from it.  I have the Bruiser and even polished it is a strong resin ball.

Monster Red/Black and Chrome/Yellow Power Groove make a whole lot more sense for look you want on that condition. Both will back end more than the Slay/R, with the Groove going a bit longer than the red/black before making its move.

Powrkoil 18, quantum core, lighter mediums ?  Only if drilled with a 5-6 inch pin and polished like a marble. However, like the "Owl" says, "it depends"!(the Owl is charlest,...the wise one !)    Remember, this ball and the Smash/R are almost the same ball....the discussion has been on the B board a few times....

I like the Slay/R or Power Groove ideas.........

As long as your lighter mediums still have some oil in front, or if you can move inside and find a front-to-back oil line, you should be fine with the Bruiser.  Our Thursday night league condition often plays like this, and I use a Bruiser on this shot.

Don't let the specs on the Bruiser fool you.  In box condition, it can be very pushy through the front part of the lane, and with that core, it revs up quickly enough to recover from deeper inside lines.

If i went with the slayr how should i drill it? I have pretty good revs and lots of speed..Like 18 and sometimes 19..I just want something i can count on for when everything else is hooking..I was thinkin about a monster frenzy also..Imput?

The SlayR tends to be long and clean in front due to the new coverstock.  Someone at Brunswick told me that, because of this, the SlayR should be drilled with the pin below the fingers to keep it from shooting through the breakpoint.

For me, the Frenzy is a strange ball;  the core wants to get it started quicker, but the cover is skid-snappy, so sometimes it tends to be a bit hard to control.  The Bruiser is about equal in strength, but a lot more predictable for me.

It is very possible to use a Bruiser on lighter mediums, mine in fact is dulled down to 800 and I have a pretty early rolling layout on the ball and can still use it on lighter mediums.

My layout is a 4x3 from PAP at 45 degrees and it hooks like an SOB but just move in deeper and play a tighter line to the pocket, you will have success that way.  You could also belly the ball and let it cover it's fair share of boards it will recover.

It's my number one go to ball on 90% on the conditions I face, any other questions
