Arsenal ?
« on: February 02, 2005, 05:40:51 AM »
I just put in an order with Brunswick to "update" and fill some holes I have been experiencing lately.  Here is my current collection:

Medium/Heavy: Roto Grip Apocalypse 4X3 1000 grit matte
Mediums: NeoTac Khameleon 4X4 800 grit polish
Light: HPS Sun Storm 3.5X5 800 grit polish
Light: Columbia Test Ball 5X5 box polished
Spares: Black Hammer polished

These seem to work on about 80% of the conditions I face (mostly leagues and small tournaments with league conditions), but I'm lacking on the upper end.  Even though the apocalypse can handle some oil, it goes really long...and at times can give a pretty bad over/under reaction.  SO, I order a couple new balls to fill in...  here's what I got.

goliath
absolute inferno

I want the goliath for the floods and the absolute to be an earlier rolling version of my apocalypse.  I do best with pin positions between 2.5 and 4.5 (pin to PAP distance), unless the lanes are totally burnt.  I have had a couple leverage-axis layouts and didn't care for them either...  I have read a few posts here saying the goliath seems to roll well regardless of layout...and the cover is very strong, so I'm not too worried about it.  ... On the other hand, I haven't heard anything about the absolute inferno yet..  I'm looking for an earlier rolling reaction, fairly strong overall.  I'm thinking possibly a 4x4 layout with pin under ring finger.  Has anyone tried this layout?  Any other suggestions?  I haven't seen this ball in action before, so I'm trying to judge its strength.
Thanks,
Scott
