ANOTHER question about Rico drill
« on: December 23, 2007, 02:07:49 PM »
Is there an optimal pin placement on a ball that you plan on putting a Rico drill on. Obviously I would guess a pin in is bad---but can the pin be too far out for this drilling to be affective? Thanks for your feedback.

Ok appreciate the feedback---1 more question. I have an inverted track (runs close to the fingers, far away from the thumb for those who may not know). Its almost at a 45 degree angle down from the fingers.
Wondering if I have to do anything funky with the positioning. I tend to tilt things to match up with my track, so that it will react how it does for others. Wondering with the Rico, if you have a "typical" ball track, the ball rolls controlled---however if I drill it up in the same light Im guessing the ball would almost react lazier than its supposed to. Should I tilt the Pin/CG combination to get it to match up as it is supposed to?

Like since my track comes down at a 45 degree angle. Should I alsmot put the pin and the CG in a straight line right down through my grip. If you are having problems understanding what Im saying---I dont blame you---Im having problems explaining it. I just want to make sure I have this thought out before I do it.

LOL, better release. Ok. Ill get right on that. Not trying to pick a fight, but playing from 3 board to 30 board isnt versatile enough?

Anyway mini rant over---if I put the pin too high, the weight block ends up rolling end over end. I reworked all of my drillings based on what Mike Miller, Carol Norman, and Jim Tomek Jr had to say about my track. Im not going to have my hand open at the bottom of my swing throwing without my thumb---just not going to happen. Im just asking if this might work---pin down stuff works best for me. Pin up is too uncontrollable---Im figuring if everyone praises this drilling based on it being controlable, why not try it for myself?

Any other responses.
