Python or Rattler?
« on: January 29, 2010, 02:53:07 PM »
I am looking for a ball that is more aggressive than my Twisted Fury. Lately on fresh 40ft THS I can not get lined up in the 1st game. My Mammoth works for a couple of frames and that's it. My Blast Zone is just too inconsistent and there is too much oil for the TF. The 2nd and 3rd games are where the TF starts to work. I was thinking that maybe the Rattler or Python would be a good choice. I loved the Activator+ of my AI but the EnMotion of the TF works well also. I had a Wild Ride and that ball never worked well for me. Any suggestions?

Thanks, CaptZap

I think you may find the Rattler and the Python to be too close to your Twisted in terms of overall hook.  If you're looking to go a step up in strength, I'd recommend either the Diamondback, Wild Thing, or Wild Card, depending on the hook shape you're seeking.

For me the Rattler reads earlier than the enmotion cover balls and more predictably late on the lane.

Having said that, I have to agree with Ray that you'd see more contrast with a Wild Thing, Wild Card or Diamondback. My Wild Card and Diamondback are beasts since I tweaked them to 4000. The Wild Thing is an everyday type of ball that anyone would like. Good luck.

I will echo Ray here as well. The Python is not what your looking for. The Rattler is closer but not quite there either. The Diamondback is a very good ball for the buck and is very useable by tuning the cover. I have used the DB on everything from Viper to Shark. And yes the same one with different sufaces. Hope this helps.

Thanks everyone I will be getting the Diamondback and tweak the surface as required.
