Brunswick Aresenal Help
« on: June 16, 2007, 01:52:59 PM »
I have been putting together a brunswick arsenal and I was wondering if I could get your input. On just about all of them the pin is to the right of my ring through experiment with my moderate rev rate and aprox. 14.5mph speed seems to give me a good roll.

Fury 1000 Aberlon - Only meant for the roughest of patterns with long length and volume. With polish the fury goes way too long. Only time I polish it is when I want to play on a house shot and want to practice playing deep.

BVP Wizard 500 Sanded - Believe it or not this hooks earlier then the Fury for me. So on many house shots this ball will never see the light of day. I havn't had much experience with it yet but I see it performing well on longer patterns, as well as the U.S. Open and T.o.C for my PBA Shot of the Week League.

PBA Inferno (Green/yellow) 2000 Aberlon - My go to ball! If my weak and strong are over under this is the next ball out of the bag. One of the most predictable reactions out of any ball I have had.

BVP Ambush 2000 Aberlon - A bit weaker then the PBA Inferno, and more of an arc. I like how it can get through the heads clean and arc to the pocket without over reacting. I was surprised as the versatility, being able to play with it on Pattern 2 as well as the U.S. Open.

Power Groove 4000 Polish - The ONLY ball I have with polish. The pin is FAR to the right to help minimise reaction. Only used for house shots with scorched heads and spares.

Ideas, suggestions? Thanks.

i'm glad to see that you've got several pieces of equipment to work with. first off, it's called an "abralon" pad----but these work great at giving the ball different surface adjustments. my biggest cocern is that you have one dull ball, three smooth sanded balls, and one polished ball. i think with your rev rate and ball speed you may need to sand the wizard to a finer grit and polish it. your ambush is your only particle ball so i'd use the 500 grit abralon on it. it's meant for oil. use the 1,000 grit abralon on your pba inferno, and finally use the 2,000 abralon on the fury. trial and error will show you what works best. good luck !

from what i see, you have a decent sized gap between the groove and the ambush. a rampage would fit nicely in there.
