What is your best heavy oil ball?
« on: February 13, 2006, 08:39:43 AM »
I am looking for a strong rolling heavy oil ball... it doesn't have to be Brunswick... I just want to ball that flat out owns the oil and won't die after 30 games like my Ultimate Inferno kinda did.

looking at:

Action
Scorching Inferno

--------------------
Arsenal:

Ultimate Inferno - Heavy oil
Original Inferno - Heavy to Medium oil
Smoking Inferno - Medium to Dry
Blue Dot - Spare ball

the oracle is a nice piece for heavy oil finishes nicely ,my only complaint is it will loose carry potential if the shot changes ,but in oil it seems to be pretty good

My Morich Seek and Destroy goes through oil quite well. I'd also say my Total Shock and Awe handles oil well too. Both outhook my Track Gp2....I hope this is a tournament shot because, I've never seen a house shot anywhere with tons of oil. Unless, of course, the machine breaks and floods them. Or if it's a sport shot league. What kind of heavy oil shot are we talking? Flat, long flooded shot? Flooded heads with strong carrydown? There are so many balls and drillings that can match you up however, what is the shot? Do you throw fast?If you are a true cranker you shouldn't really need something that strong.

still got it.. just not sure of its longevity.... I am always looking for new technology and simplified, improved technology.

How many posts did you make about just soaking it in hot water to get its reaction back?  You can't wonder about longevity and make posts like that at the same time.  You also aren't allowed to complain about longevity until the ball actually dies, because before then, you don't know how long it will last.

Got to agree!!  Hard to argue with the longevity of the Soaker coverstock and both of these balls work VERY well in oil.  It would just depend on the shape that you are looking for, etc.

I don't have a what most would consider a "true oiler", but right now it's the Track Rule Delta 1 and the Hammer Particle Pearl Diesel. I just play a tighter line.

i'm having a hard time believing your ultimate inferno "died" after 30 games. my ultimate inferno has over 500 games on it and thanks to daily cleanings, trips thru the rejuvenator, and resurfacings/rescuffings/resandings it rolls like new.

anyway, my goliath has been wetsanded as coarse as 120 grit and as smooth as 4,000 grit. at 120 grit i couldn't find enough oil to hold this ball. 220 grit was still more than enough.

Well I like the Visionary Centaur AMB particle (the blue one)it all about roll in oil . Even more than my EPX drilled the same. As far as your Ultimate have it cleaned and the oil extracted you should clean your ball every week especially if you use it on oil...

Well i picked up the new Big One last night, i must say this ball with a 4000 finish is the 2nd biggest moving ball in oil i have ever thrown. Very very strong and continous if you miss right it come back and if you miss left watch out its gone lol Ball hits very well and is early and never stops i think it would burn out at 2000 unless you were on a 1 to 1 flat pattern.

Best right now - Buzzsaw SCB.
BUt, I'd really like to find a NIB 15 pound Buzzsaw LRG.  (yeah, says ancient Chinese oracle Fat Chance).

I roughed up my label drilled Inferno and just tightend up the line. Worked quite well on a flooded PBA B (Shark) pattern.
