Semi Circle crack on my smokin, anyone else??
« on: September 08, 2006, 07:32:16 AM »
Last night I rolled a few shots and noticed something new on the right side of the middle finger hole. A hairline semi circle crack. It wasnt there before and im not too concerned about it, just curious if anyone else had this happen to them. The Smokin is a great ball, hate to have it fall apart.

Before you guys say its probably the glue for the inserts, where the hair line crack is at, there is no glue for the insert because I use the Vacu Grips from Vise Grips.

Okay, so I know that this is a problem for most people then. I wasnt concerned about it as its not the 1st ball ive had do this to me. Had a Columbia 300 do this around the thumb and a Storm ReLoaded around the entire finger section.

I have a similar crack around my middle finger hole on my Ravage.  It's in the same area as some of the engraving though...

Will bob and nick come here and tell u that they havent had any one with this problem? Maybe they send all the perfect bals to the west coast and the rest of us get sh-t lol.

Its not uncommon for this to happen on ANY ball. I was just curious to hear if anyone else had this same thing happening and I got my answer. Im not worried about and if it happens to break out, ill just have it pluged and fixed. No biggie.

I just had the same thing happen on my columbia action, but it was just above the ring finger. Soon after this by bridge cracked, and it pushed the insert, so I couldn't throw it any more. I also used vacu grips, but I do believe that glue is used on them, its just a very small amount.

Yes theres glue used on Vacu-Grip inserts. Theres a green plastic ring glued to the bottom of the fingers, the finger grips are glued to the green ring and about 33% of the insert at the bottom.

Vacu Grips are awesome inserts, never use anything else.
