Sanctioned 812
« on: May 16, 2006, 06:54:45 PM »
After struggling with solid nines and stone tens ruining my chances at serious 800's I dropped from 15lbs. down to 14lbs, and wallah! .. 800 ring

The ball I chose to first drill was an Absolute Inferno
After 4 weeks I have now rolled 3 800 series.

Tonights series was sanctioned and I shot 268 257 287... 812
Had front ten the last game and was so happy when I burried the 10th that I lost my head on the 11th, .. lol and put it out a little to far.

For me since I have alot of hand but average speed i was blowing alot of racks, leaving 9's and the drop of one pound in weight is carrying the weak nines.

I carried 4 weak nines and left zero ten pins all night.  The deflection and pin action on the deck is way better

Plus its effortless to hold that fading line that we all love to hold onto, stretching it to the limits with high flush shots, moving just before it breaks down.

I love 14lbs...

Anyone else try the drop in weight ?

I recently dropped weight. I throw around 15.5 mph and I can get some finger in the ball, but 15's have been messing me up. I recently switched over to 14's and have been throwing my Green Messeneger and just tearing it up. Ive averaged about 185 in this one house and shot like a 220 average in 5 games there the other day. I love 14's too!

Really, you should try the EPX-T1.  It has been the ONLY ball to use on really heavy oil and after 50 games, just give it a hot water bath and its reaction will be back to new.

Congrats on the 800s.

Thank you for the grats guys.

And yes with different speeds and different releases, different ball weights will benefit the bowler in different ways. You just gotta find your niche, and experiment a little.  If you got lots of hand and speed, a lighter ball may give you better deflection and carry those 9's and 10' better.

Took me 8 yrs. to drop to 14lbs. and I am glad i did it.

Congrats on the 8! I think I muscle a 14# too much. But your story really makes a guy want to try it.
