Brunswick / DV8 Ball Guide ??
« on: September 23, 2016, 02:53:16 PM »
Just curious why these companies do not put any sort of ball guide on their website.  I know you can sort Brunswick balls by different factors, but it is not as clear as MOTIV's guide on which balls are strong vs weak and arcing motion vs angular.

How can you tell from the site (not from trial and error) which ball will fit where in your arsenal?
MOTIV Jackal LE .................40 x 4.5 x 40 p2.5
MOTIV Revolt Vengeance......45 x 4.0 x 50 p3
MOTIV Forza GT ..................50 x 4.0 x 70 p2.5
MOTIV Sigma Sting..............50 x 4.0 x 45 p3

Only 2 companies have a chart like that, Motiv and Radical.
The charts are just a tool to help in your search, they aren't 100% accurate because of all the different variables.

The Brunswick site is pretty clear where you can sort by Hook Potential or Breakpoint Shape.

Sorting Hook Potential from high to low you see all of their balls from strongest to weakest.
Breakpoint Shape from high to low you get the most angular to the least

But like I said above, it's not perfect because of all the different variables in bowling

I just have a hard time with the Brunswick sorting deciding where a ball will fit in.  If I was, for example looking for a medium condition arcing ball and a medium heavy condition angular ball, how do I chose?

Why not put them in some sort of grid classification?
MOTIV Jackal LE .................40 x 4.5 x 40 p2.5
MOTIV Revolt Vengeance......45 x 4.0 x 50 p3
MOTIV Forza GT ..................50 x 4.0 x 70 p2.5
MOTIV Sigma Sting..............50 x 4.0 x 45 p3

Attached is a ball reaction chart that Brunswick has created that will help you see where the ball line up with each other.

I hate to be that guy, but is there an updated version of the ball chart with the Quantums announced? :D

If I could find it I would look for myself but I have no idea where it comes from.

If you go to the Brunswick website and click information sheet for the Quantums, the updated ball chart is at the bottom of the info sheet.

Ill just save you some time, heres the link...

Ah, thank you very much. I rarely open up those sheets from the websites so I probably never would have found it.  ;D
