Nope, not a new ball.  Just wondering what all these players at the amatuer/regional/exempt-professional staff level are seeing in the new crop of balls to be leaving the staff?  I've heard of and seen dozens of staffers from all over the country leaving/resigning as of 2009.  What's up with that?

I blame it on Carolyn Dorin-Ballard.  Just kidding.

But it is curious that ever since she came on to staff some of Brunswick's best have left or been fired.  Is it just a coincidence?

It has nothing to do with CDB. It has to do someone higher up...

I was talking to a local rep who had been with Brunswick for a number of years. He claimed the Brunswick Boating division lost an ungodly amount of money in the 3rd quarter and he saw the writing on the wall.

Had nothing to do with the equipment, more of the overall financial situation of the company in general.

This may be true, but unless upper management is directly forcing staffers to resign as a cost-cutting measure, this doesn't explain why people are jumping ship all across the nation.

My bad, I thought I read "reps" in the original post. Did the benefits of being a Big B staffer change because of the financial outlook???

They are being asked to cut some costs and there have been a 'few' that have been released, but overall, it's many of the former staffers decision to search out other avenues to strike, if you know what I mean.

And yes the boat division did lose an astronomical amount of $$$'s in the 3rd quarter, but through it all, the numerous individuals in IT and accounting remain-while customer service suffer.

Not sure what's happening DP3 but it doesn't seem to be occurring in our area..and I for one am extremely happy to be a part of the good things going on at Brunswick...I have been throwing their stuff exclusively for around 6 years and they are finding new non-Brunswick style successful reactions with the new stuff.  The new Wild Ride and the Rattler are both great balls!

I would agree with that. I have been thinking about trying Brunswick's stuff for awhile I just haven't had a need to, maybe in the future.

Yes, these are tough times for almost everyone. And yes, guys choose to leave ball companies on their own accord EVERY year in an attempt to find a new reaction. For some, they always think the grass is greener on the other side of the fence, for others, it's actually a wise move, sometimes just to be a free agent. Not a whole lot of loyalty in bowling all around these days.

I stay for not only the equipment, but the people involved with Brunswick. Robert and Ric have been very close friends over the years, not just bowling ball reps. We've had some great times and hilarious stories over the years, I miss the days of the Mini. I thought cutting Rico was unfortunate, but we still move forward. Brunswick pride still runs deep here...
