Would this be a good ball for a beginner?

If you are willing to get the Goliath, get a Nemesis instead, same price range. But If you will throw 13lb go with the Original Inferno(good ball, and it is cheap).

i would not recommend the "goliath" for a first ball. it's heavy load particle coverstock is way too aggressive for a beginner. for the same money you could get a nemesis or a punisher. or, if you're willing to wait till july you could get a rampage.

my dad told me since the goliath is a particle ball the hook will wear out in a matter of months, so im thinking about either the track slash or the inferno as some of you were saying.

THe Slash is a good bet, the Inferno might be too much ball, the Slash is SUPER versital so it can be tame and aggressive!!

If 12 doesn't feel that heavy, you should move up.  If it is heavy enough you think you might have trouble with another pound, stick with it.
