TL;DR
Which balls to replace Twisted Fury and blue/silver Avalanche Pearl?
Hi,
Looking for a replacement for my pin-up Twisted Fury Pearl. No idea of dual angle but pin is above my middle finger (right-hander) with MB at about 45 degrees. My PAP is about 4’ to 4 1/4’ over, 1’ up. At the ‘right’ condition it goes long then make a controllable and continuous turn.
About me: My game is closer to Missy Parkin than EJ Tackett so medium speed / rev. ‘A’ game is track area 17-6 on THS but nothing further left than 4th arrow. I can play the Norm Duke / Liz Johnson line on tougher shot. Used to bowl a lot but took a break about 6 years ago, then got back into it about 3 years ago.
I bowl in one league and sub in another. Disappointingly about eight weeks ago the (main) league voted to change from a more challenging 42-foot 3:1 shot to 40-foot THS (8:1).
I have only bought one ball since returning to the game, a pin-down Vintage Gold Rhino. It’s very strong but not long enough for my THS so I’ve been using my 9yo, never resurfaced, never de-oiled pin-up Twisted Fury Pearl. It’s one of my all-time favourite balls.
I love Brunswick, especially Activator, and still use my old Zone Classic, Vapor/Red Zone and Absolute/Ultimate Inferno every now and then, in fact I still have a few Activators NIBs in my collection (2x Original Inferno, Absolute, Red, Vapor, a couple Lane 1s and a Morich)! Having said that the Zone Classic (pin down) and Twisted Fury match up best with my game and THS.
Anyway, I was thinking of drilling a Vintage Inferno (pin-up) and/or Fire Quantum (pin-up) as a replacement for my Twisted? And maybe a Soul Mate (pin-up) to replace my blue/silver Avalanche Pearl (pin-down, very good ball but not long enough)?
What about the new Magnitude 035 Pearl?
Thank you.
