Brunswick LT-48 Reaction Video
« on: February 11, 2014, 03:08:44 PM »
We tested the new Brunswick LT-48 on our test pattern after bowling approx 3 games with the mastermind and genius, so the shot was starting to break down.

we also compared it to the Melee with the same drilling.

Wow! surprised at the "difference" in ball reaction and hitting power of the LT-48 vs. Melee. I wonder if the Melee needs more oil to perform closer to what Brunswick implies it should do? I wonder if it was doing a controlled midlane burn on this condition?

The LT-48 looks good and hits very well. Wish you could have shown more off-hits with it.

The LT-48 looked good on the tv pair this past Sunday.  Also saw that Michael Haugen is a free agent again as it appeared that he was throwing the LT-48.   His bio is no longer listed with the Roto Grip regional staff.

I see the Melee as a pretty weak ball.  I think it would look better on a shorter pattern.
LT-48 looks awesome - kinda like the Dude...

This LT48 rolls like no other Brunswick ball ever IMO .  It's more clean and angular than anything I've ever thrown from BIG B.  If anyone dare says all Brunswick balls roll early, they need to be smacked with this ball.  I have a feeling your gonna see a lot more of the staffers making shows on the conditions where the Utah guys seem to dominate.  Look out !

IMHO, what you are seeing is the core difference where the Melee with it's much higher diff flares much more and burns midlane.  What I found with the Versa is that I had to go with longer pins in order to get it to really tip downlane, especially as I chased the oil left with it.

The LT-48 looks like a ball that I would really like later in the day as it appears to be much cleaner with more downlane than the Versa/Melee.  The LT-48 looks VERY good and possibly a more versatile option than even the Versa.

The LT-48 looked very good not he show this past week.  They were really able to circle it which is a plus for a ball like that but it also looked like with some surface it was pretty strong.

I think Haugen was throwing a Covert Revolt?

I thought it was the LT-48.  But, after watching the video that was posted on YouTube, you're right.  Covert Revolt on the left lane, Sigma Sting on the right lane.  Thanks for correcting me on that.

One of your original reviews was a Misfit, I believe.  How close are the Misfit and LT-48?

I feel that the lt48 is cleaner and a little more flippy down lane.  The misfit is very angular but rolls up a bit sooner than the lt 48.

Thanks for another great video, Jason.  Both balls look great.  I have to say I appreciate that the Melee allows for a straighter line to the pocket.  It gives me a unique look over my other stuff.

My pro shop says there was not much interest in the Melee but he can't keep the LT-48 on the shelf, and he's mostly Storm/Roto.  Looks like Brunswick is on to something with the Vintage series.  Looking forward to some Rhino Pro remake next!

LT48 is a beast. Drilled one yesterday and used it in league last night.  Definetly stronger and more angular than my Melee with a similar layout.  I was never a fan of Big B until the last like 6 months.  My bag has a Mastermind, (2) Geniuses, a LT48, Melee, Diva Pearl, and a Beatdown.  They all really compliment each other so well and give ball reactions I didn't really see from Brunswick in year's past.

Ilov e anything from bruns.  I want to try the melee because I hear how smooth and controllable it is. That's what I love about my dude. Hr terror and nightmare. I don't do well with hockey stick angularity. Sure it looks cool but I want. strikes .. when I can make throw and see how the ball reads and reacts so smoothly to the pocket I can find good lies much easier. The Lt looks great but with my release I know the melee would be great. I just haven't bought one because it may be the same as my dude. I was thinking of either getting a melee or another dude with different drilling and surface just to play with and experiemt with

The Meanstreak Brawler looks to be in the smooth class of these 2 other balls, LT48 and the Melee.

Anyone want to compare?
