Braniac looks fine. Melee Hook im thinking will see a lot of use on tour and amateur tournaments
-
Like the melee hook, low rg and high diff symmetricals are right up my alley. Not sure about the brainiac, is there really a need for another mastermind. I would of thought the last 5 they came out with would fill every gap needed.

Based on Brunswick's numbers, it appears the Melee Hook is aptly named. I'm curious how much stronger it is than the Melee Cross.

When the line gets replaced whatevers next will continue with the same style of releases. Solid, hybrid, pearl, etc etc.
If instead of the MM Brainiac they called it The Black Widow multi color it doesn't change anything about what the ball is. Just the next release

Melee Hook. It will be mine.
I've loved every ball in this line. Wish I purchased an OG Melee in 14 when I dropped down a pound.

Been a big fan of the Melee line as well, between the Cross and Jab, I had great success the last couple years in the NW/West Region. I had a chance to throw both of these last night in our travel league here in Muskegon. The Hook is a beefed up Jab that's cleaner than the Cross, was very angular on our 44' pattern. Switched to the Brainiac middle of game 3 and could cheat in 3-4 and see a very quick response downlane.
These are nice complements to my Nirvana/Vandal/Ridiculous trio.

Both balls intrigue me, but I'm really interested in the Hook. I've loved my original Melee and the Jab. I haven't gotten along with the Cross as well, but I'm still playing with surface to iron that out. In any event, you can't beat good symmetrical pieces. If the Hook is as good as the Jab and original, it's going to be an awesome ball!

You know I love them both, Nick. Can you dig me up an OG in 14lbs somewhere?

Doug,

Didn't think to look there - duh! Anyway, it will look nice next to my Jab, Cross, and HOOK!

Nick,
How does the Brainiac compare to the Scholar? Thanks.
-
For me, the Brainiac is more off the spot than a Scholar since the core is a touch stronger. Both are pearl, but I just see being able play more angle in the front with the Brainiac. I was able to use both of these in league the other night (44' pattern) and I tripped a lot of 4's and 9s. Melee Hook is like a beefed up Jab, perfectly matched core and cover.
-
I gotta' say that the Melee Jab has been soooo good for me that the Hook sounds like extreme FUN!
The new Brainiac will probably match up for me too. Christmas coming early this year!!
-
I agree with Lane about the Jab (box surface). Best ball I throw on everything but the flatter patterns. Hoping the Hook will fill this roll.

Nick,
How would the new Brainiac compare to the Thug Life?
-
Looks to be a touch cleaner and less hook overall, both are pretty angular.

How would you compare Brainiac to Vandal
