Brunswick Mastermind Intellect short vid
« on: September 07, 2014, 07:41:20 PM »
Had a few games in today to try out this new ball and have to say I am very pleased so far. Look forward to throwing it this week in league.

Bunswick finally has a coverstock to compete with Utah......I am looking forward to punching a brute.

How do you feel this compares to the Schizo since it looks like you've thrown both

Was going to do a vid with the Schizo but was too tired. Schizo is drilled very similar and is a little cleaner. Same shape for both but the box finish gives the Intellect the nod for heavier oil. I love the Schizo. Can't wait to see how the Intellect fits in.

Brunswick has several that I would take to the bank over Utah. Everyone has their prefernces.

So Brunswick says they've now got something that fits between the Mastermind and the Genius. I've gone on record saying I think the Intellect has that 'wow' factor, and it's something that's very tempting to get.

That said, it seems to me I can pay about $25 less on a Genius and drill it a little more aggressive (pin/down) and put some surface on it and get the same desired results. (The Genius also has had that 'wow' factor with me.)

Is there any shame if I were to opt for a Genius rather than an Intellect?

Thank you for making me drool and adding to my depression for not currently having any Brunswick gear. Ball looks great though!

The Fortera cover that is on the intellect is quite a bit stronger than the genius. The genius no matter what you do to it wont be as strong down lane as the intellect. You can cross as many boards but you will not get the same shape.

The Genius for me was a miss. Very over under and did not read patterns well especially in medium oil.(skid for days and maybe hook maybe not)

The DV8 Schizo is my favorite of the Ruckus line and was everything I had hoped from the Genius.

The Intellect is not as strong as the original Mastermind but looks to have a different shape. More length with a great down lane finish. In order I would say safely it is Mastermind, Intellect, then Genius. I would like to try another Genius on a different layout to see if it helps compared to my first one. Surface adjustments could not save the Genius for me.
