I think it was out in 92 (remade in 2006), and if you're looking for a ball that is mild, you've chosen the correct ball.
The purple is a pussycat on todays conditions.

Original 1992. remake in 2006. I have a remake and it is very weak indeed. On a house shot I am playing up the boards and have been using it as my spare ball in my PBA summer league. It goes straight even on the Cheetah pattern. Diff of .015 so it does not move a whole lot, but it definately more than plastic and most if not all older Urethane. Great ball for the conditions, definately does not overreact.

I tend to check EVERY ball on the scale prior to drilling, but that's just me!
With a 2 1/2" pin and 2.5 top, unless you have a baby span, you'll have more than 1/4oz finger. You also have to take into account the RPP doesn't have a massive dense core, so you can't rely on taking a ton of weight out when drilling the fingers.
I just think you are in the wrong to single out the Rhino Pro Purple, even moreso a ball made in Mexico.

I got a Red Crown 3 (Thank Nick ship to me). The box said a 2-3'pin and
a 4.5' coming out. These ball is made in USA. So, I always ask my driller
check the spec before drilling.

Blame the Ball Nick, I didn't blame the ball, I just Blame the Mexican Brunswick Idiots that let this ball escape the Mexican plant with the wrong info on the Box! And Yes, I use a relaxed grip so my span is a little short but this is the First time drilling a New ball that I ended up with over a Full ounce of Finger weight (Which by the way Really kill's my game due to my 3.5 PAP) and to drill it down anywear near Zero would made this ball Too Light for me to use!

I am Very proud of the way my Seahawks Battled in the 2006 season & Playoffs after loosing to the Ref's in Superbowl 40!
Please excuse my ignorance, but what is "finger weight" and how is it determined?
Thanks
Charles

Just take your ring and middle fingers, and put them on a scale.
J/K, its a static weight thing, the effects of it on ball reaction are not measurable.
If you have "finger weight" there is more top weight shifted towards the finger quadrant than the thumb quadrant.

*sigh*
So you can see a different ball reaction with 1oz finger as opposed 1/4? And say you had to drill the fingers deep to take out an ounce of finger, you can feel that too?!?! 14-1 vs 14-0
C'mon now

We better notify Benoit to make sure all the balls on the truck fall within an ounce of the desired weight of the pro. We all know that it'll matter because they don't bowl on the "walled up" shots.
I hope you don't plan on bowling anywhere exept the bubble you live in! GET A SCALE DUDE!
