brunswick red fuze. any good?
«

I recently bought a brand new fuze on ebay ($100 no shipping). I had thrown one found on the rack a couple years ago and it was pretty strong for an older ball. I asked my PSO about it and he told me that the people he knew had them didn't like them, but didn't hate them either. so anybody here thrown it, or had a good/bad experience with the red fuze. (I would still have it if my friend hadn't bowled it down the drive way)

Raging red fuze? Haven't thrown it but avabob had a lot of good things to say about it and so far I haven't seen a bad ball yet with PK18 (have like 3 now). I am guessing its pretty good on modern house shot. Its hook, length and shape #s are pretty close to my BVP Rampage which is one of my 5 favorite balls or so.

Back in the early 2000s there was no limit to how far left you could get with that ball and get it to recover. Companies also really need to make more shiny cherry red equipment. That ball was sexy.
The cover was a Powerkoil 19 or 21 derivative called Powerkoil AR.

This ball was titties!!!! Ambush, monster frenzy, monster bruiser. Man, Brunswick had some really good stuff back in early 2000s, now they are like the ROSS, dress for less in bowling.

DEAD!!!!!! LMAO. Dress for less!
Brunswick put out about 20 amazing balls in a row between the Reactive Fuzes Up until the 3rd Gen Infernos (Radical, Total, Smokin... yuck to all). I used to love that Red Fuze then ball down to the Monster Scream/R.

I brought the one I found to team practice one day and this 2 hander wanted to try it and he asked what kind of oil it was for and I told him medium oil. he threw it out over 3rd arrow and out to around 10 and that ball flipped and hit 4 7. he came back and asked how much I would sell it for.

Fuze line in general was not good, but the raging red was the strongest pearl on the market until Activator came out on the Inferno line. Best thing was that the PK 18 cover was incredibility long lived and easy to maintain with occasional hot water soaking. I thought my Red Fuze was dead but my ball driller soaked it in 140 degree water. I shot a 300 and won a couple of tourneys with it after that.
I think the reason that you get so many different opinions on the ball is that Brunswick stuff of that era was very rolly. Made for great reactions on flatter tournament patterns where I was using it mostly, but not as great for guys on house shots.

PK and Activator are no joke especially on today's house shot. For whatever reason with my Rampage I can put up 220s+ more effortlessly than any other ball I own at least on house shot.
