The company peaked in the 90's. So why not go back to a time when people actually wanted to throw your brand. Good move.

Green/Silver and Black look sharp.  Will be interesting to see them in person.

Better stock up on the Strike Kings.Was the best bang for the buck for the THS in my opinion.

I think it's a step, backwards towards Ebonite and the Cyclone. It's still stronger yet, The Strike King was stronger than the Slingshot; now the Rhino is stronger than the Strike King. Brunswick is removing itself from one of its previous strengths: light oil balls.
Ebonite has had no true light oil balls since the Cyclone came out. Now, Brunswick joins them.

Heck, now there's room again for the Slingshot below the Rhino.

That's a pretty contrasting difference to be grouped the same.

These are a lot closer to Strike King than they are Cyclone. The shape is different on Rhino vs Strike King. Just a bit smoother overall from the RG change.

I didn't meant the same ball; I mean the same type of ball. And that Brunswick SEEMS to be following the same general path, using stronger and stronger balls as their weakest. They're not the same large step, when it went to the Cyclone, that Ebonite took, but, as I said, the Strike King was stronger than the Slingshot. I have no doubt that with  little lower RG and little higher differential, that the Rhino, as good as they look, will be a little stronger overall than the Strike King.

I honestly think there's ow room to put the Slingshot below the Rhino and have a more properly filled arsenal. Yes, I know people with high ball speeds don't need it, but many of us still do.

I will never say Bowlmor is the king of competitive bowling, but this is incorrect as a blanket statement.  Bowlmor centers, or at least the ones I have experience with, set up their own conditions and select their own oils.  This doesn't mean they aren't encouraged to "cheapen the product" for the sake of the bottom line.

I am not as doom and gloom on Bowlmor as the next person.  I don't work for them or have anything to do with them other than bowl in an establishment.

As for the general case, my opinion is the same.  Brunswick will need to provide a weaker ball if they want to continue in the entry market.  Many centers spend less on oiling lanes in the summer.  The timing of this release will mean the summer will see a lot of new bowlers with bowling balls that may not be as effective as a Tropical Breeze or perhaps even a Ride/Joy Ride.

Unfortunately, even if Brunswick agrees, they can't just release a new ball tomorrow to go where the Slingshot was.

It's possible, it just hasn't been done with Brunswick balls at this price point. We are very careful about performance targets to make sure they don't cross over. A stronger cover on a Rhino could potentially be stronger than a Soul Mate, but your point is taken.

I like solids as well, that's where my LT48 fits in.
