Does any one have any info on this ball? I never threw one when they were out in the 90's So I dont know much about them, but I did throw a red alert and loved it. So any who whats the RG and diff on this ball in 14# We recently recieved a case of them and there happened to be a 14# one in there So i am thinking of drilling me one up but really dont know anything about it. i am looking for something like my inferno but just a touch stronger roll in the carry down, inferno is drilled 5-1/2 pin on grip line 1 inch above mid line cg in 45* angle with a weight hole in thumb quadrant to give me that flat spot on the weight block. Any info would be nice because I am really wanting to drill this black beauty. I have heard nothing but good things about this ball and the famed powerkoil 18 cover. Thanks.

I agree with the last post.The DZ is an awesome ball that has a nasty, hard backend arc. I own 2 of these monsters and am always keeping my eye open for another. I averaged over 240 in league with one during a 6 week stretch and only put it away to try other stuff.

My first one is drilled with the pin 4 1/2 inches from Pap above and slightly to the right of ring finger with cg out about 30 degrees. The second is stacked leverage.

Get it, drill it and watch the magic happen!

It is an awesome ball. It may be "old" technology, but the ball really holds its own on today's conditions!! It may not move as many boards as the inferno, but it will move with a strong, sure rolling arc. And seriously - if you don't want it - I'll take it off your hands!!!

The pk 18 is a higher friction cover than the Activator, so it will pick up a roll sooner and be smoother than any activator ball.  I personally would elevate the pin so it will push down the lane further.  Give a try to something in the 5 1/2 pin to pap range with a pin above mid of at least 2".  The drill you mentioned when on such an early rolling ball will cause some burnup.
