Our team shot 1,500 last night!!!
« on: November 07, 2007, 10:32:17 PM »
...too bad the mirrors weren't working and it showed a strike for everyone regardless of what you threw.  It was fun though seeing all the strikes on the board and actually envisioning one day throwing a 300!  We started out doing manual corrections, but that was taking too long so we went to paper scoring.  According to the board, I shot 879, and was fourth high on our set!!  I actually shot 719, so I was happy.  We were bowling against the league secretary's team so it was fun joking about ring sizes, upgrading to gold (especially considering the current price of gold), and watching some people's expressions as they walked by and saw the scores!!

Have a good day!!

Here I thought Empire had this great equipment. Darrell had to be happy about that. I will have to ask Michelle if I can get that hook if I bowl Easter Doubles there. Ever since Randy left Empire it has not been the same.

True - Darrell said they would have to shut down 8 lanes to fix the problem because that's how the Brunswick scoring system works.  Part of the problem lies in the fact that it is typically just young kids doing the work.  Last Friday at Eastway, the ball returns on two consecutive pairs shut down at the exact same time.  The kid was down there looking at gears, wheels, belts, etc...until someone (one of the bowlers) said, 'maybe it's a breaker?'  Went in the back, flipped the switch, and we were back on...

Somehow I can see that at Eastway. Darrell seems to be one of the guys that can pin point something without being around it all day and tell you what the problem is. I should call Michelle and ask about the high scores and see what she says.
