I've never thrown an Einstein even though I wanted one. I liked my Ultimate Nirvana that I had.

When I've tried comparing the two, it looks like the Ultimate would handle oil a little better and the Einstein would be a little more angular

I haven't thrown the Ultimate Nirvana and it wasn't popular in my area so I have no first-hand experience with that but the Mastermind Einstein is a great ball. The reaction wasn't quite what I thought it would be though. Went with a drilling that usually helps get the ball rolling earlier with a smooth motion overall with it also having a shorter pin. Had the idea of making it my "benchmark" motion that's not too late/snappy and not too early/dead on arrival.

Nope. This thing is pretty clean and flies off the spot for me. I even hit it with 1500 and then 2500 Mirka pads in a Sandbagger to see if that evened out the motion and it's still more on the back than I thought. That's not to say I don't like it though. The Mastermind Einstein fits really nice under my Absolute Nirvana and Grudge Hybrid. I don't use the latter two all that often unless we get lucky and there's a good amount of oil on a random league night so the Einstein is in play often. It's fun to use and there's a lot of stored energy so I can keep moving left when needed without losing carry.

The difference is amount of hook and length. The Ultimate Nirvana has a lower RG core which will start up 1 - 2 feet sooner than the Mastermind Einstein if drilled the same. Also, the Ultimate Nirvana will hook about 2 - 4 boards more because of the ECS coverstock formula. Both balls have a hybrid coverstock and take well to surface changes. I have my Mastermind Einstein with a pin up drilling and it creates a good amount of length with a lot of recovery when moving left into the oil. I have my Ultimate Nirvana with a pin down drilling and it has a little more midlane motion compared to the Mastermind Einstein. I keep both balls at a 3000 surface to smooth out the reaction.

Wasn't the Mastermind Einstein one of the first balls to use the "composite" formula? I know the ECS coverstocks are stronger than the Relativity coverstocks, just wondering if I have my facts straight.

I have both balls drilled identically and the Ultimate Nirvana starts to roll up a little sooner and can traction through a little more oil. The Ultimate also does a better job of blending out wet/dry and is a great option to start out your league night. My buddy just shot 814 with his on Saturday and couldn't stop telling me how great it is.

The Einstein gets down the lane a little easier and has a little more shape on the backend.  It is the closest ball that I have found to my beloved Terrors and Wicked Sieges and creates a nice #2 ball for tournament play once your tanks start to burn.
