Brunswick Vs. Hammer

im Looking to buy a  new ball all i have right now is an old columbia 300 dosent have much reaction i average about 130 with it. I throw down and in straight up the 10th board. i have low revs and slow to medium speed and anytime i thruow just a little to fast goes weak. Im looking for a ball that will help me be able to hook more and maybe move my shot in to like the 12 to 14 board then out to about 5th. i dont want a real strong angle. like a medium between arc and angular .would  any of these balls be good. BVP Wizard, Hammer Toxic, Hammer Doom. Im just looking for a ball to start with and if i was going to buy a 2nd ball it wouldent overlap a lot with my first.

While your concept is sound, the implementation of it can be more complicated. You should see a good local pro shop, who can see where you bowl and what type of ball will be best suited to your needs.

The balls you mentioned are all all VERY goog midrange balls, but they cover a wide range of potential ball reactions and oil patterns. The Wizard is for heavier oils, the Toxic is a very strong reacting, very flippy, pearl that can be hard to control. The DOom is a smoother reacting pearl than the Toxic.

You probably would be best off with a mild solid, based on your average, but again a lot depends on how you throw the ball I see low revs and low-med speed) and the kind of oil on which you bowl.

Something like a Hammer Pure Burgundy Hammer, AMF Titan SE, a Columbia Super Trooper, Ebonite Black Ice, or Whirlwind or a Roto-Grip Saturn might be best for you. It's hard to tell "from a distance".

I agree with Charlest, as you should have someone observe your style before buying a performance ball.  What is the name of the ball you have now?  It isn't performance right, urethane, maybe?  Is it drilled conventionally or fingertip?  A performance ball should always be drilled fingertip, so if you're throwing a conventional grip, the change will feel different (but you will be able to hook it).  Do you have a coach or do you take lessons so that someone could make a suggestion?  Are you going to be attending a summer camp?  People there can help you with this kind of thing.  It also helps to know your revs, speed, and axis tilt.

For typical league play, and for someone who is buying their first reactive ball.  I would suggest a Brunswick ball.  Some good ones for you would be a Red Zone, Rampage, Punisher, or Power Groove.  If you have low revs and/or high speed would ask for something a little stronger, such as the Wizard.  However, as Charlest pointed out, that ball will react more than the others mentioned.  If I had  to vote Brunswick for you, I would vote for the Rampage, but once again, I do not know the critical information required to select your next ball.

As for Hammer, I would suggest the Doom, but I wouldn't start an exclusive arsenal with Hammer.

There are many other companies out there you may want to look into.  To name a few names, Storm (Jolt), Track (Heat Blast), and Ebonite (Black Ice).  Ask an expert on this kind of thing, or tell us your revs and speed, and shoot a video this way, and we will make our best educated guess.
