Versa-Max vs. IQ Tour
« on: May 10, 2013, 04:09:07 PM »
For those who might know, how do the two compare?  I have heard the V-max will hook harder when it hits the friction with same drilling.  True?
Long Gone also posts the honest truth which is why i respect him. He posts these things knowing some may not like it.

Just curious. I like the Versamax. Just see a significant difference in the two covers.

ccrider, I agree and am sure there is a difference. I've seen some IQ Tiurs here and they seem to work really well for those that have them. My driller (Anne Marie Duggan) shot 800 & something with one a few weeks ago. I don't remember the exact score but do remember it was over 800.

IQ ( solid ) certainly seems to me to have a stronger shell.  However I think the core differences are the biggest factor.  Low rg and differential makes the IQ smoother off the breakpoint than the V Max no matter what layouts you are using.

The smooth rolly reaction makes the IQ seem to be much more versatile, and a better control ball on tougher conditions.  It will also burn quicker for higher rev guys on hooking conditions.

Tamer cover also makes Versa Max a good control ball on more hooking conditions, but it will squirt sooner than the IQ on heavier oil.

IQ pearl reacts a lot different for me than the solid.  Most guys I know like one or the other but not both.  Higher rev guys like the pearl.  Lower rev straighter guys like the solid.
