Title: BrunswickInsiders SFTP??
Post by: UCFKnight300 on February 02, 2005, 03:20:18 PM
I was checking out the straight from the press section for this week and it shows a ball laid out for Amletto and a ball for Jason Hurd.  Was wondering if Amletto was still with Track and i'm almost positive that Hurd's with AMF, considering he won a title with them already.  Just curious if the guys just wanted to try the ball out or if they were really using them.
Anybody got anymore info?

Watch, Monacelli makes his first show this week. Loved that guy ever since I was a munchkin, just too bad he handicaps himself with inferior equipment.

I know Hurd from the southern region.  He is a free agent but gets comps/incentives from both Brunswick and AMF.  He use to throw only Brunswick and this past summer/offseason started getting some AMF's.  He now throws both, he will throw whatever gives him the best look.

I should just quit bowling, oh wait I already tried that.
Now that I am back and my Saws are sharp again, I am ready to cut some wood.

Talked to Ameletto yesterday.  He is no longer with Track and is trying some Brunswick balls.  Also, Duke is no longer with AMF.  Hurd, as mentioned in a previous post is independent as well but uses a lot of Brunswick and AMF balls.

I won't say to much of what I overheard in Birmingham due to not knowing complete details. There maybe some people either becoming free agents or switching companies. At this time all I can say about that.

I will release only one thing since people are wondering what's going on. I overheard that some people on different companies staff want to try the Absolute Inferno. That is all I am going to release.

Why are they kicking the cg out?  It doesn't matter right?

Andrew, Ric is gonna biatch slap you for that.

Are they using weight holes?  IF not, then i have no idea why they'd kick it out.  As ric has said, with the pin in the same spot, you can put the CG anywhere you want and the core is in the same position.  The only way i see it mattering is if an unusual amount of weight is centered in the CG, but otherwise, I don't know.

Yes, you can pretty much guarantee you will need a weight hole when you kick the cg out, unless you have low starting top.  I understand the core position but by kicking the cg out and putting in a balance hole, thus changing the core dynamics.  Talk to KOTM sometime about this, you have to be are freaking genius to comprehend what he said.

Andrew, I know what your saying with the weight hole, I agree and I bet ric would acknowledge that putting an extra hole in the ball would effect it.

I think ric's (and my) stance is that for drills with no weight hole, the CG has no effect, so all you need to describe is pin to PAP distance.

BrunsPro, why didn't you bowl this weeks's PTQ?? I saw you gave it a shot last week, not to bad man.  Give us anymore info if you can, I figured you'd be there and be able to help us curious minds out.  Thanks again for all your help.

OK, OK, Mike..........

First, about kicking the cg out and no extra hole.  This is usually done to allow for an extra hole later if you want to tweak the balls reaction. (By kicking it out slightly but not to the point of having to have one it leaves some side weight that allows you to use a hole if you want)

Yes, Duke and Amletto were throwing Brunswick equipment whenever I saw them bowling. (*disclosure: I don't know what they were using the whole time as I wasn't watching them every shot  )  I remember seeing Duke using an Ultimate early and an Absolute later in the block.  Amletto tried an Impulse Zone early but I also saw him using his Absolute as well.

All I can tell you from watching some of our staffers and some of the independents.........the Absolute looks awesome!!!

Off to watch the head to head matches.........

John
