BTU vs. pitch blue
« on: August 09, 2016, 03:47:18 AM »
Has anyone been able to compare the two and or if they might belong in the same bag?

I have a reconditioned sumo and a pitch blue in my arsenal. Thinking the btu might possibly be a nice step up from the pitch blue if the blue isn't recovering.

Mainly play on sport patterns and we always start on fresh and the longest blocks are 8 games with 4 on a pair

Arsenal:
Track spare+
sumo
pitch blue
iq tour edition
hyroad
haywire

The Fanatic BTU has a smoother urethane like reaction, but will not have the same carry down effect of urethane. You can start farther right because of the reaction, but you can keep moving left if it starts hooking to early. Even moving left with the Fanatic BTU, it will still recover down lane and carry the 10-pin.

So the BTU has a smoother urethane reaction then the urethane in question? Also the pitch blue flares so the carrydown effect is just about the same as BTU since even though the BTU absorbs oil, it doesn't absorb it so fast that there is no oil on the ball when it hits the friction. And you did absolutely no comparison of the two, just toing the company line

What Brandon was saying is that the BTU has a smooth reaction like urethane, but it's closer to resin than a Pitch Blue.

Looking at the BTU as a step up from the Pitch Blue when it's not recovering sounds about right

Urethane shape without being urethane is my understanding.  I don't expect the ball to look like a glazed donut as compared to traditional urethane.
