In college bowling tournaments, there's no real need to stack your arsenal in the typical "ladder" biggest hooking down to dry lane ball/plastic. More often than not that will leave you only throwing 2 balls on the majority of shots while you have a bunch of condition specific(flood/sahara) balls laying in the bag with no games on them taking up space.
What I would do is ask around players with a revrate/speed match similar to yours that throws brunswick and see which covers match up the best. Then make an arsenal of 2 high reponse balls(balls that respond very aggressive to friction), 2 low response balls(balls that roll more off of the friction), one aggressive shell drilled weak to even out wet/dry walls(if you see one) or for playing the extremes on the lane(deep inside when they get burnt and outside 4 when that option is availible), then your spareball(you'll need it!)
With your game, I would look at something like this:
For your aggressive layouts, I'd place 4" - 4 1/2" pins 2" above the midline with an option of a flare increasing x-hole to promote strong midlane revs and continuation. For more benchmark/control layouts I would go 5 1/4" pins to PAP without an x-hole for more energy retention through the heads with a strong but controlled down lane move.
High Response w/ aggressive layout: Fury Pearl
High Response w/ control layout: Blast Zone
Low Response w/ aggressive layout: Wizard
Low Response w/ control layout: Sidewinder
Cleaner coverstock option for severe drying situations(5 1/2" pin high): Punisher, Power Groove, Radical Inferno
and a cool looking spareball is a must.
Have a good season.
