We can speculate what coverstock it is... the Eliminator had a solid light load particle version of the Aggressive Reactive coverstock, derived from PK 18. The Ambush has a pearl coverstock and will be polished. Higher RG, lower differential... hmmm. Could be a pearl version of the Eliminator, more length.
Well, I hoped that they would have given it a stronger core with a lower RG and a bit more differential, so that it could handle more oil. But then it would have been too close to the Impulse Zone, I guess?

Nevertheless, the Ambush could be THE hot mid-prize ball for the next year to come. I am looking forward to it.

.044 lower differential? What are you smokin bro? When you say something like "lower or higher," make a reference to what you are talking about, because just saying "lower" makes it sound as if the differential is .015 or so.

Won't be even thinking of this ball if it resembles the Eliminator...I thought that ball was a dud.

From the numbers, and from the history of the BVP line, my guess is that the Ambush will have the same inverted-bell core as the other BVP balls.  As such, it seems highly unlikely to me that the Ambush will react like the Eliminator.  If I had to guess, I'd say that the Ambush will be more like a polished Raging Inferno in reaction, but more pushy in the midlane.

Stanski, I do not smoke at all. Never make conclusions from yourself...
I referred to the Eliminator, of course, which has a 0.053 differential (more then the Infernos) and a lower RG than the BVP balls, which I consider medium-low RG for Brunswick balls. That's all. I do not think that the Ambush will be a "worthy remake " of the Eliminator, but from the specs it is a ball I have been waiting for for (too) long in the Brunswick arsenal.

So where will this fit in reference to the other BVP balls?

Look at the ball comparison chart... http://www.brunswickbowling.com/uploads/images/811/Brunswick_Ball_Comparison_Chart_Jun05.pdf
N14 leaves this ball in box condition right between the Rampage and the Nemesis. From this chart placement it is less a remake of the Eliminator, but more of a revival of the ShockZone Pro (N13), see also http://www.brunswickbowling.com/uploads/images/1252/Zone_Shock_ZonePro.pdf

The Eliminator still plays in a higher league than the Ambush.

ahhhh ok, just a bit confusing the way you worded your first post, made me think that you were calling 2.541 high rg (really medium-low rg) and .044 low differential (really medium-high differential).

I'm betting that this ball will not be as successful as other bvp offerings. Just hazarding a guess, but from what I have seen out of brunswick particles in the area, they do not seem to match up favorably to house conditions and therefore get labeled as "crap" by a lot of bowlers. I have heard and witnessed on numerous occasions people complaining about the goliath not hooking as much as their old trusty reactive when it is supposed to be a hook monster. Same goes for the impulse zone, and i really do not see a great sales niche for more brunswick particle releases except among more serious bowlers.

I suppose it will be a good control ball, an addition for later games when the lane starts do dry up and the pattern becomes spotty. It seems to be pretty strong.

I once had a Plum Pearl Power Groove, but it also never worked for me. The coverstock felt nice, much control, but for me it lacked a true core for roll. The Ambush could be the ball I waited for, but in the meantime I got other replacements for this job (A Vicious Attack, great ball, too).
