BVP vs HIGH PERFORMANCE
« on: October 22, 2006, 12:12:56 PM »
What is everyone opinion on this as far as BRUNSWICK goes? I have a SZ and love that ball. My son throws a Rampage and I really like the way it skids and snaps into the pocket. But what do all of you think?

BOWLING IS FUN NO MATTER WHAT YOU SCORE. BUT A 300 IS ALWAYS NICE.

STRIKE ZONE & PYRO. STAND 15 AND THROW 10 OUT TO 5 AND SMASH THE POCKET. AT LEAST THAT IS THE PLAN OF THE NIGHT...

They're both very good lines, just for different people.  The Infernos seem to be better in the hands of a person with more revs, because they're very even arcing and smooth off the dry.  Excellent control balls, just unreal stuff.  The Zones are a lot sharper, more aggressive on the backends.  They work great for just about everybody.  BVPs will own just about any house shot you want to throw at them.  They're just older technology . . that's all.  PK18 is earlier and sharper, BVPs on a house shot seem to be directly between the Infernos and Zones for look on the lanes.  The cores keep the BVPs a little smoother, but the covers make up for it.  Different price points, but I wouldn't say they're different performance points.  Depends on what look you're going for, the only difference lies in the age of the technology.

I agree both are very good lines.  The BVP line allows the beginner to still be able to afford a ball with a good cover and a decent core.  Using these balls on the lane condition that it's designed for you can never go wrong.  The only BVP ball I haven't thrown is the rampage(yet!).  The Zone line is great because you get a great cover and core combo and with the psa markings allows the pro shop operator to have more tricks when looking for different reactions.  The Rampage is a excellent ball, I have a buddy that perfers that to his RZ and RI.  You won't go wrong with mixing and matching for a arsenal.
