BVP Punisher: Data and picture
« on: October 19, 2004, 04:14:00 AM »
Hi there,

the German Brunswick distributor Spobag is, like with the Zone Classic, quick again. They published a picture and ball specs on their homepage (www.spobag.de), but only in German language. Seems that the Punisher fills the Frenzy gap. Nothing about the new particle Zone yet, but this might be the web site where you will find the first info.

So for the rest of the bowling world...

BVP Punisher:
Art. number: 60-104227-93X

Shell: N’Control PowerBoost
Colour: Blue Pearl / Silver Pearl, Red glow Engraving (looks ugly )
Hardness: 76-78

Surface: High Gloss Factory Finish

Core Design:
RG Max: 2.580
RG Min: 2.536
RG Diff.: 0.044
Average RG: 4.6

Performance :
Hook Potential: 90
Length: 135
Breakpoint : 95
Ball comparison chart position: J - 7

Weights: 10-16 Pounds

Suited for dry/medium dry lane conditions

"Technology - Skid/Snap power"
The BVP Punisher combines the bell-shaped core of the BVP Nemesis and BVP Goliath with a new, reactive bowl "N'Control PowerBoost", with
middle hook potential and a very strong skid/snap.
By this shell/core combination the PUNISHER is longer in the oil than comparable balls with middle hook potential and stores thus its strength
for the important backend, where it strikes extremely hard. That helps naturally if carrydown takes place on the lane.

Hope this helps you out there?

Sure does look like the Attitude III (purple/silver although the punisher claims to be blue/silver)to me almost exactly like it by the picture, wonder if it is that close in person cause that was a very pretty ball only it had orange engraving if I am not mistaken.

I should just quit bowling, oh wait I already tried that.
Now that I am back and my Saws are sharp again, I am ready to cut some wood.

The core (RG) numbers are identical to the Time Zone...a ball I've been using for a while and is NOT skid-snap.
Hopefully this new coverstock does deliver its promise (skid-snap properties). I'm beginning to doubt Brunswick's ratings charts.

I have an intense inferno, time zone and original inferno all drilled the same (with equal pin to CG distances), and my original inferno, which is supposed to have the least angular movement at the breakpoint, consistently outsnaps both the other 2 balls in every condition I've bowled on. The time zone is more of a strong arcing ball while the II is well...rubbish.
