BVP Python?

so after trying out the fury line, i never wanted to touch another brunswick piece again... my previous favorite balls were the BVP Rampage, Ultra Zone, and the Ultimate Inferno. after seeing some of the new stuff thats out, i was really curious about the Python. how would it compare to the rampage or ultra zone (ultimate inferno would be WAY too strong to compare)? really thinking about jumping back on that brunswick train after going to hammer and storm.

The Python is a little cleaner through the heads than both the Rampage and Ultra Zone, and faster to respond to friction.

It and the Rattler are very nice pearls at a great price point. The Rattler being a bit more smooth late on the lane for most than the Python.

The Python is probably the best ball that big b has released in my hands. It doesn't over react when it encounters friction, and finishes exceptionally well. I didn't care for the rattler, but the python is a winner!

a couple friends of mine have rattlers and to me, its nothing special.. guess it works better for others? however, i saw a guy throwing that python the other night and man did that look god. not to mention the colors were sick!(not that i go by colors, but its a nice feature haha). would the python be considered a dry lane ball or more of a medium all around ball?

The Python would really be considered a medium condition ball. I have 3 of them with different layouts, and between the 3 I was able to create about 10 boards in hookability and ball motion shape. The strongest one, including a 2000 finish, is plenty strong, even on oily conditions. The least hooking one of the three would be considered a lower volume of oil ball. So, based on layout and surface, it's hard to categorize what this ball is completely for, but it's intentions are to be a medium.

when i tested the python i was amazed at how smooth it was off the spot. i keep hearing how it hits friction and turns the corner, but none of us (st ambrose bowling) saw that with this ball. we used it on burnt up shark and also on a fresh house pattern where the top hat is very defined and the ball was super smooth off the spot. we loved the reaction, so im hoping that is how it will react when i drill mine up.

layout was just pin over the bridge and the cg kicked a little left.

oh haha sorry about that! just so used to the BVP line. i think im going to try brunswick out again. hopefully this new stuff is what im looking for. any suggestions on layouts? i can always tweek the surface later.
