Is this for real? Danger Zone is back!!
« on: September 28, 2006, 07:59:18 AM »
OK, I bought it anyway and I didn't care whether or not this was for real.  They're advertising a Danger Zone limited edition remake on Buddies website.
https://www.buddiesproshop.com/product/3655/Brunswick_Danger_Zone_Bowling_Ball_-_Limited_Supplies.htm

Did Brunswick remake it, or is it that Mike Aulby "MVP" released in 1999 with the same cover/core combo as the Danger Zone?

Actually I hope it looks like a Danger Zone, but I won't complain if it's not, as long as the reaction is the same.

This line they have posted on the website seems to be the giveaway though:
*Actual bowling ball colors may vary somewhat from the picture shown.

Comments? Should I have done this?

Yes it's the same ball just remade.  I had one, but I sold it to my friend.  A very good ball if you ask me.

Site says it is the same core/cover.  Brunswick will make any ball you want, even custom core/cover combos (assuming it is THEIR cores and covers).  I think you just have to order at least 500.  A couple of the former women pros are involved in an online pro shop and they have been known to request remakes of old Zones and Rhinos

Thanks for all of the replies, you've definitely answered all of my questions, I'm just glad I got the last 16# Danger Zone listed on they're site!

I don't know if this is apples and oranges, but would I be correct in comparing this ball's popularity and dependapility with The Messenger Titanium Pearl (b/s/p)?  From what I've read, the Danger Zone can be beat to death, brought back to life, cover can be setup in many ways to be used on any condition, and still last forever.  This is how I feel about my Messenger too.

Anybody with similar experiences between the two?  I love the idea of having two versatile and dependable balls...

Bwolingballmall.com has the original Danger Zone in stock.
It also has the Original Monster in stock and on sale too. . .

Well, from what I've heard about the ball, adjustments to the cover aren't needed!

Funny thing is, my father has two that he doesn't use and will not give either one to me- that's the main reason I'm excited about getting this one
