Yes, there is enough oil and no, the ball is not rolling-out.

Um . . not a chance.  The way the trend has been going, the Red Zone will be the zone core with Activator Max (or possibly the Smokin cover, which is actually more likely), and the Wizard MAY be solid Activator, but I'm not so sure they're quite ready to move Activator all the way down to the BVP line yet.  Pearl PK18 was used years ago, I highly doubt with the success Activator has had that they'll take a step "back" and put 18 on a Zone core.  They essentially had that combo with the red pin Zone Classics anyway.  Wasn't intentional of course, but there were plenty of them out there.  Solid Activator on the BVP core would be a good move though, I'd like to see it, but like I said, I doubt it's going to happen quite yet until the Inferno series has officially run its course.

Well my guess is that the wizard will be solid activator on a bvp core and red zone would have punisher coverstock with the zone core..

Goliath and Nemesis were released simultaneously in 2004.

I hope you're not suggesting that red pin ZC's have pearl PK18..

Of course not, silly...*everybody* knows the Red Pin Zone Classics had the PowrKoil LS coverstock from the Monster SlayR.

There's also some Aggressive Reactive available at Brunswick, as an in-between PK 18 and Activator. Maybe we will see some of this stuff back again. I do not think that Activator will (already) trickle down into a medium-priced line. But, who knows?

The 1st Activator generations (pearl, solid) have been used in the Zone balls, and the initial Infernos with the material are discontinued now and replaced with next generation materials. With the CZ gone, original Activator pearl is not available anymore at all, what would IMHO be a shame.

A solid Activator could replace both Nemesis and Goliath as a heavy oil ball (say 600 grit), maybe with a new medium RG core for the BVP line? Well, we'll see soon...

Ooooh, I forgot about the Fuze covers . . I'd love to see the Raging Red cover on ANYTHING.  Nope, wasn't suggesting that 18 was on the red pin, otherwise it would have been a LOT more aggressive.  I'm just saying that with the way they set the Punisher up for lighter oil conditions, the "blem" red pins were close to what that combo would have been like anyway, albeit weaker.  But the whole point is that 18 isn't going to go back up to the high performance or Zone line, whatever kind of reaction or hook potential they're going for next.

Not that this is even a remote chance, but I'm still in favor of seeing the pearl pk18 cover on the original inferno core...  wasn't that the Zenith or Backdraft post from several years ago?

An activator cover on a BVP ball with the standard BVP core shape would be terrible. The RG on the "bell" is too high and activator(original blend on OI) needs to be on lower RG balls or it will slide too far and be very irratic.

Activator has been placed on mostly lower RG balls because if it is placed on a ball with a higher RG it will skate too far for most. Even Mo Pinel said it himself, activator is good but if it's not put on an Inferno style core it is will shoot too long. The activator is technically not as early as pk18. The only breed of activator that would work on the BVP core would be activator MAX or even a hybrid mix of PK18 and Activator.

I have to agree about the Rampage.  It's one of the best balls on the market period, price range notwithstanding.

They need to put Activator  or Activator Max on the Attitude 3 Core. Thst would be an AWESOME ball....

I have to figure

Red Zone=Zone asymetric core with the activator advance

Alot of people including myself like the zone series better than the infernos.  The infernos do have the advantage of having the newest coverstock technology.  A ball this soon with the activator maxx on the zone core would probably cut the sales of the SCI and overall would hurt the company. The SI on the other hand doesn't seem to be selling as well as it isn' the newest thing.  It makes alot more sense that the Red Zone have the Advance from this perspective.

I don't have the credentials or the experience of the Brunswick ball techs, but it is interesting to note that the VZ utalized the standard zone core of the CZ and the SZ rather than the elevated rg core of the IZ.  There were two infernos with the +, the II and the AI, but they opted for the zone core with similar rg and diff to the AI.  This made sense as the AI was regarded as the more successful ball.  I have to wonder, as they only came out with a higher rg version of the Inferno core with the Advance wrapped around it, whether a ball in the Zone series with the advance would use the more similar zone core as found in the IZ or whether they believe that a ball with the low rg core will actually work better.

The Wizard is more of a mystery.  I was hoping for the activator to tricle down, but another probably more likely option is creating a new core and using a derivative of the Pk18.

Say what you want, if they put the original activator cover on one of those BVP bell cores, I will HAVE to have one!

The Big B balls I loved are:

1. O.I.- 'Nuff Said!
2. Impulse Zone drilled 0 degrees (PSA on midline past VAL)
3. Classic zone, although not so much as the others

PK18 is what drove me away from Brunswick in the first place. Had about 6 or 7 balls crack open out of about 10 I owned. Got tired of losing stuff, so I waited until activator came out and was tried and tested before I got one, but was happy with it once I did.  Not to mention that PK18 tends to have bad characteristics for me.  It either want to hook too early or polish it and it wants to slide too far. Never had that problem with activator balls ( except the smokin, HATED that one!)

Not knocking Big B, he!!, that's what I shot my only 800 series with ( O.I. ), but not EVERONE likes the PK18 covers.

I would love to see the Red Zone have Activator Advance and preferably the IZ core with the lower diff to get more length. If they wrap it around the std Zone core (.048 diff compared to .038), it would be nice as well just might flip too early. Either way I will be getting one by the end of summer.

The Wizard I would like to see either a blended cover (PK18 solid and pearl or PK18 pearl with Activator) with the same core, or a solid PK18 cover with a new or modified core. Since I have had great success with the Rampage, Nemesis, and Ambush I will more than likely be getting the new BVP as well at release.

Then again...they could always re-release the Combat Zone Tracer.....
