BVP Wizard?
« on: February 25, 2007, 10:28:43 PM »
I haven't seen one of these in action yet around here. I'm curious as to what this ball replaced in the Big B line, and what other balls by other companies  this compares too?

It replaced the Nemesis.  Actually it's the same ball but a different color and logo.

My 06-07 Arsenal:
  • *Coming Soon* FURY

  • Vendetta Maxx (box finish, label lev) = Heavy/Medium to Medium

  • Cobalt Bomb Solid (box finish, 4 x 3.5) = Medium/Heavy to Medium

  • *Cracked* Agent (box finish, stacked lev) = Medium

  • DOOM (box finish, label lev) = Medium to Medium/Light

  • Power Groove Dry/R (box finish, 5 x 4.5) = Light/Medium to Light

  • Red XXXL (box finish, label lev) = Dry

Well, the *specs* are the same, but I think the cover formulations are a bit different.  I've noticed that, with the same drilling and surface prep, the Wiz is a few feet longer and slightly sharper at the break than the Nemesis.

Any input on conditions, drillings, etc. on this ball?

Depends...what type of reaction are you looking to achieve with it?

I have my Wizard polished over 2000 smooth, drilled 4E for drier mediums, and it gives me a nice even read on conditions that are broken down.  But I know a few people who left some surface on their Wiz, and can use it on oilier mediums with a more aggressive drilling.

The one I picked up on a trade is pin right of ring, and up slightly, cg stacked, weight hole.

Had some thumb issues so didn't get out of it real clean last night. My highest practice game was 237 with it though. Pretty good roll, nice backend reaction. I should be able to get it slugged tonight and give it another roll.

I was really impressed with it so far. Looked like the line with it was up the 10 board on our fresh house shot, and nice move to the pocket. Could be a winner.
