Cant believe big b is stopping production of infernos and replacing them. I was very surprised to find this out the inferno line is no more.

Okay... lets take the Phantom core rumor a step further.

What were the RG's and Diff's on these cores?  If I remember correctly one of the balls was released and the old ABC's RG or Diff. rule was created afterwards?

Would that core even be legal under today's restrictions without a tweak or two?

If they brought back the Phantom core and name, it would be interesting to say the least. That ball was way ahead of it's time. It and the Sumo were some of the first assymetrical balls on the market.

Even though it is more common now, our store had never heard of track flare and how to manipulate it along with positioning of the marked PSA.

We just were starting to get an understanding of the ball when the market all of a sudden wanted Excaliburs. Brunswick got the Rhino Pro purple out and this ball kind of fell by the wayside.

Maybe the Phantom deserves another go round.

I personally think that the Rocket Core with the Octane Gripion shell would be a great debut for the new line and a beast on the lanes. Then again, so would the Gripion with the Phanton Core!

Everyone still seems to be forgetting the possiblity of the continuation of Activator on the high performance series. Maybe the orginal Activator on the Phantom or Rocket core.

Just remember that the first ball of a new line is usually a med. oil ball (OI, TZ, The One, etc.) so don't look for an extremly aggressive ball to start the line.

About what Mike said, I think there is a good chance of the new line being called the "Octane" line. If you look at the past BIG B HP lines, you will see fuze, inferno, etc. Everything from the series, names, and now coverstocks involve explosions, fire, bombs. Octane sounds good to me!

The Big B already has a asymetrical only line and the Zone line has made a name for itself once again. So, is there the need of another asym. line when they just use the High Performance covers on the Zone cores?

Just my two cents anyway

about what brunswick802 said, medium oil ball usually starting a new line...in the past that may be true but my only question is...what are they lacking as far as medium oil goes that they'd be replacing already? total, radical, absolute, smokin...they're pretty well set for medium oil aren't they? just my opinion. can't wait to hear the name of the new series, as i'm sure it's a name we'll be hearing a lot of over the next couple years.
