C-(system) 2.5
« on: August 06, 2009, 02:42:25 AM »
Was looking at the balls on the pba and seen a new release from brunswick called the c-(system) 2.5 and was wondering if any of you brunswick people know anything bout this ball. Says it's a new cover and weight block friend of mine throws only brunswick and is looking for a new long and strong ball and thats what it says this ball is.

On Xtra Frames 39X60 Sean Rash mentions he was using it some during qualifying on the Chameleon. I did not see it during match play yesterday, but he may not need it with all the friction there is in the Arena Bay.

Saw a few of the staffers using the ball during Qualifiers.
Didn't attend match play.
I believe the release date is Sept. 15.

Watched the ball tonight.  It's ridiculous. Great new ball by Brunswick.  Very versatile and gives the bowler a ton of room.  Release should be in about 6 weeks I'm told.

I had the opportunity to use this ball as a test ball and then to drill up the production ball for league Friday night.

This is a great ball, with a very unique reaction on the lane and through the pin deck!

The new core and coverstock technology provide maximum forgiveness and superior pin carry compared to anything else I've seen or used on the market.

I'll provide a full review once we get closer to the release date and I have an opportunity to use the ball more.

ok heres a thought... why release the siege? this new ball is for heavy oil according to bowlingball.com? if it is a heavy oil ball wont it take away from the siege sales. which is a heavy oil piece and poplar piece among bowlers? needs some clarification on this. since i am deciding between this and jigsaw and the siege. so what ball would be the one to have the siege or c-system?

The Seige is still going to be more overall hook than the CS 2.5.

Oh baby, I can't wait to be able to bowl again! I'm missing out on everything! I still have my Siege to drill, Rattler, I want a Wild Thing, and now this C-System sounds very interesting. J-Morris, i'll be waiting for further review. It certainly looks good.

Had an opportunity to watch Petraglia using this ball after match play finished tonight.

A few of the other guys on the senior tour commented that it gave him a look on the lanes that he has needed.  Long and strong is a good description and I'm not sure how serious Mark Williams was, but he said he wanted a case of them.

He had 2 that he picked up from Muskegon earlier in the day and they were basically ignoring the OB on the #4 senior pattern.  I will add that the lanes had been oiled in the morning and had sat all day by the point he bowled on them, but there were only 3 lefties left in match play today.

The only ball he had brought in to compared against was a Rattler, and it wasn't recovering like the C-(S) 2.5 was.  Petraglia was also commenting about needing to tweak the "tame" one to get a bigger difference in reaction from the other he had.  Both balls were still OOB in regards to surface.

Hopefully with these in his bag he'll have a better look in Detroit next week and can make it to match play.

The release date is 9/28/88 and it is currently available for preorder on http://www.bowlingball.com for $144.99. They have a pic of the ball and the core with a nice description. I have heard rave reviews as far as a pro out of Indiana saying it was the best Brunswick ball since the Original Danger Zone. Thats all I know for now. Hope to see it this weekend
