IME the alpha-max has all of the oil-handling capability of the C-(S) 3.5, but has a much more dramatic move at the break. I have one drilled pin-down that I'll use when the pattern is longer or flatter, and I need the ball to pick up the midlane more. I also have one drilled pin-up that works well for me on longer patterns that are more blended, where I want to open up the back end.
