C System 2.5 Full review
« on: December 15, 2009, 10:03:26 AM »
Hello everyone I drilled up two of these balls for the transitions for me at Regional tournaments.
Ball one: Drilled 45x5 1/2x25 Pin Up. On our THS this ball is really clean through the fronts and makes a strong move on the back. Of course for me on THS I can throw it on the fresh for all 3 games. This ball works perfect through the carry down stages on the lane. I am serious when I say this, this ball motion is something I have never seen before from a brunswick ball. It never reads the midlane too early. It retains energy like no other. The way the ball goes through the pins is crazy. So far I have already shot 300 with this one.
Ball two: 90x5x55 Pin down. This ball responds to the oil a little bit quicker so I can play deeper with this ball than the pin up one. But for me no only does it respond quicker to the oil it also responds a little quicker to the friction. This ball will be better suited for the fresh on the shorter patterns, and the burn on longer patterns. Brunswick has one of the most complete lines I have ever seen. Go out and get a C System 2.5 YOU WON'T BE DISAPPOINTED. Bowl Brunswick!!!

I completely agree with that. I was shocked that it happen. With a 90 degree layout with the way I throw the ball, its generally a long smooth reaction. The reaction I got was it could handle more oil than the pin up and accually picks up quicker off the friction. The cover core combo is just an absolute grand slam. I am not going to lie this ball does as advertise, clean with a strong move. Brunswick back in the day had balls that kind of started so quick in the front part of the lane that when they broke down the ball hooked and just stopped. This ball doesn't do that, accually their entire new line doesn't do that. Brunswick has come out with a lot more versatile and continuous balls. I really like the way the company is going. If you have anymore questions feel free to ask.

Curt,

I usually get a smoother reaction with a higher VAL angle such as pin down drillings. I drilled the Twisted fury line in this manner and also the Smash Zone.  I tend to like 45-4-1/2-40 drillings for most of the Brunswicks.  I am suprised to hear the #2 ball is rolling like that for you.  Do you have a weight hole in the ball.  If so, what position, P1-P4?  Thanks for taking the time to provide us with your review.

Doug both of these bowling balls do not have any holes. I was a little surprised by it but I do have a unique release and roll. My PAP is 4 1/4 over @ 19 degrees. I don't put a lot of hand in the ball, I basically stay behind the ball almost like Chris Barnes, but without the revs. I probably put about 250 to 300 revs on the ball. But I do truly enjoy the way these two balls roll and they will be the perfect fit for what I want them to do. I will be getting my wild cards and a diamondback really soon. So more reviews on the Brunswick equipment. Let me know if you have any more questions. Maybe tomorrow I can post pics of the layouts.

90x5x55 ..... where does that put the PSA?  Near the grip center or near the axis?  This dual angle stuff confuses me.

Axis: 5-3/4"  5/16 down

Most likely the psa would be in the thumb or on the track side of it.

Late reaction, typically good for slow rollers IMO.

I was trying to get a later reaction with the ball for transitions that I face at regionals. 90x5x55 puts the PSA directly below my thumb. The pin is below my middle finger. The ball reaction I got was a quicker response to friction and a little earlier roll than my pin up c system.
