C System 2.5 Wow! & Need Advice
« on: April 01, 2012, 12:50:15 PM »
Got this ball off of Ebay, extremely low mileage and I believe with the original OOB surface with Pin above ring with everything stacked and a weight hole. Threw it last night on what I believe was a fresh 41ft shot. My feet were on about 35 and I was playing a break point around 7 and it was making it back with authority when the bowler (me) did everything correct. I can't play that deep with any kind of consistent accuracy. This ball needs a surface change. Should I polish over the OOB surface to add some length, scuff with the scotch brite smooth it out a little? Or should I start with a surface I know and adjust from there. I like using the Track Clean N Smooth 1500 polish and then either polishing from there or leaving it dull depending on what I see. My ball speed is around 15ish to 16mph tops.

On an added note my son has a Mission 2.0 and we were shocked at how much more the 2.5 moved on the backend than the 2.0. With the 2.0,with a very similar drilling, my son can play a much straighter line to the pocket. The 2.0 is 800 wet sand no polish.

My advice is to try it one more time before tweaking the cover. Sometimes the lanes play different from night to night, even on fresh.  After that if you still need to calm it down you can add a little polish over the top of what is there. Keep us posted.

I would suggest hitting it with a 2000 pad. This will smooth out the backend a little without sacrificing how clean it is through the fronts.
