Matching up with Big B
« on: January 15, 2007, 02:12:59 PM »
What kind of style matches up best with Brunswick equipment? I really want to tryout Big B again but I just don't think I match up. My only frame of reference is the Scorchin which I hated but I don't think I saw enough oil to really gage if I matched up with it or not. I keep thinking about either the AI, or one of the BVP balls.

Im a low end cranker who can swing the ball or play a straighter line, i seem to match up well with anything brunswick has with the exception of the Radical Inferno. As long as you have a smooth release you should be okay with Big B, this goes with most brands.

inferno2112; how many Total Infernos (pun intended) do you have combined?? I just have the Radical, Intense, Smokin, Scorchin and soon to have a Total.

hockeynut15: I mainly went with brunswick because i got tired of trying to mix and match several different companies for all sorts of oil conditions. Brunswick has more then enough equipment on the market to cover any condition you might see at any given time. The only real thing brunswick lacks is a medium priced Solid cover ball.

Wouldn't the Wizard qualify?

I didnt know Red Zone was Solid, I didnt look into that either. The Red Zone is currently outside of my price limits and nobody is sellin a used one right now.

The Wizard I wasnt sure, Looking at the coverstock it looks like a solid but ive seen balls that look like a solid actually be a pearl. If the Wizard is a solid with PK18 cover stock then I learned something new tonight.

Its all good, I dont really need another ball in my room. Thanks for the insight guys, I wasnt sure, now i know.

I have had nothing but bad experiences with the 3 Brunswick balls I've owned.  I am between a stroker and a tweener and I tend to stay behind the ball too much at release.  The Brunswick balls I've had (Total Inferno, Original Inferno, and a Power Groove) have all hooked too early for me.  If I move inside, they don't have enough enegry to consitantly carry.  I know others that love their Infernos, they just don't work for me for whatever reason.

I've had great experiences with Columbia balls and the Green Gargoyle I used to have.  i just ordered a Domination (my first Storm ball) and we'll see how it goes.
