Classic vs. Red Zone
« on: March 07, 2007, 09:54:03 AM »
The basic question I'm asking is the difference in terms of ball reaction those two balls have?  I had the Classic Zone and it went sideways for me.  I couldn't control it at all.  Will the solid coverstock of the Red Zone make it more predictable?  From the people I asked already, they tell its alot more smooth and predictable than the CZ.

I have both, but I went the other way, my ZC is drilled pin under bridge, mb out about 3 inches right of the thumb, and i wanted a red zone to be a little longer/stronger, so i went pin above bridge, mb a little closer to thumb.

I'd say drilled the same, with the same cover, there's not MUCH difference in the two. My red does go longer and has more snap, but they're very similar as far as hit/carry/forgiveness.

I have my ZC at 600 plus polish, which gets it down the lane a ways, and the pin down and mb out, it makes a nice arc to the pocket, whereas the red zone i have 4000 abralon on it. goes down further than the zc and snaps in.

overall, i think the balls are fairly similar, the red zone being a little stronger overall, but with the right drill pattern, i think you could make the red zone a lot more controllable. recommend them both, always loved both of them.

hope this helped.

Matt

The Classic has a quicker response on the dry compared to the Red. The Red is one of my favorites for opening up the lanes because it reads the lane better than the Classic.
