They are for the stronger releases. The power players can lay out strong pin to pap distances and not have the track flare over the entire ball.

The Avalanches are basically remakes of the old Touring Editions Zones from the late 90's-early 00's. Decent tires, weaker motor for more specific players and conditions. These should fill a much needed gap between the Power Grooves and the BVP series.

Looking at what most of the ball companies have unveiled since Bowl Expo for their lines especially Ebonite, this is a really smart marketing move on Brunswicks part. Keeping some tried and true coverstock/cores and reaction shapes in lower priced lines. Good job Brunswick.

I'm excited, but a little disapointed that its not PK18 pearl o-well, I will still have to get one.  Might just get one of each.

I'm just waiting for *someone* to notice that the Avalanche Pearl, a ball made in Mexico, is at location I-9 on the comparison chart.

The pearl looks like it may be a nice ball for our local house shot ----> Short and dry.  LOL.  Depending on the colors, I may have to try one out.

Why oh Why could they not use PK17 Solid on something with a core.  That would be heavenly.

Yeah, kind of Red/Black Monster revisited! I had hoped for something like this, too.
