BVP Ambush? or T-road
« on: July 16, 2007, 02:31:31 PM »
Hi, I'm new to the forums. Some what new to bowling with a high performance ball as well, just got my very own ball in the last month or two. I have a Sorchin Infernal and a Rotogrip RS-P. Sometimes the lane would be too dry and everything goes to the left (even the RS-P). Right handed, I'm not a fast bowler avg speed is 13.5. Avg is aobut 180s, high game is 245 with the RS-P. never had a 700 series yet but looking froward to it.

I thought the RS-P would be a far enough difference from the sorchin but I guess not.

I'm looking for something that would suit my need. How does the Ambush compare to a T-road by storm?

Thanks for the input if any.

If you're looking for something for lighter oil, I think the Ambush and Sidewinder will be too strong.  With the same surface preps, those two plus the RS-P handle comparable amounts of oil.

Of course, the Ambush comes polished and the Sidewinder nearly so, so they'll be a small step down from the RS-P.  I don't know that there will be a big of a gap as you're hoping, though.

If you're wanting Brunswick, I'd go with a Rampage.  On medium shots and shots with broken down heads, I think it'll work better for you than particle balls like the Ambush and SW.

If not Brunswick, you might consider the Rotogrip Venus or maybe the Horizon.  The Horizon shouldn't roll up quite as early as the RS-P since it's a pearl reactive with a highly-polished surface.

Thanks, so thats a NO to the Ambush since its not that big of a gap from the RS-P.  What about a T-Road from storm?
I'm thinking I need something that goes longer. BWP...?

The RS-P is a particle ball, like the Ambush and Sidewinder, just a higher load of particle. This ball is best in oil.

If you're playing the drier area you should try a pearlized reactive such as a Rampage or Punisher (longer than the Rampage).
