ive been looking around for some info about the composite coverstock technology that brunswick is using can anybody tell me whats the features and benefits of this tecnology.

The main feature is that it uses Chemical Friction that is built into the coverstock and doesn't rely on mechanical friction which is the surface that is applied to it by a sanding pad. The composite technology changes the molecular structure of the coverstock and doesn't absorb oil as quickly which allows longer times in between oil extractions. Also, the main benefit is that as the ball gets some "lane shine" on it, it won't lose the reaction because of the chemical friction.

Of course it is marketing, but the company is proud of the advancements it is has made. My take is that this generation of coverstock starts off a little stronger (chemical friction) and requires less sanding (mechanical friction) to properly see the lane. Brunswick also reports that it is easier to make tweaks to get the desired reaction out of each release.

is the composite coverstock on all of their stuff except plastic ? or just certain ones

As far as I'm aware, the Nirvana, Ultimate Nirvana, and Absolute Nirvana are the ones using composite technology thus far.
When Brunswick contemplates new releases they target a desired ball motion, or spot in the line-up that needs "refreshing", so in time there will likely be additional balls released using composite technology.
Their other coverstock formulations are VERY effective, too, so although this thread addresses specifically the ECS technology, it should be understood that the others are not less effective when used in their targeted conditions.
It's almost like asking a parent which of their children is "best", when all probably excel in their own ways, and are not loved any less than the one who becomes a heart surgeon...
I'm not privy to all the information that the product specialists have at their fingertips, so perhaps one of them can clarify if I've said anything off base...

Which ball is the favorite? The current release of course, at least until the NEXT one is announced, and then it will be the bestest ever!
Not specific to Brunswick and it's staffers of course, but all bowlers(especially staffers). ;D

Probably the reason I like the Fanatic so well is that It's extremely close to the older Versa Max.
On typical house patterns I don't necessarily need the newest technology due to defined friction outside and hold area inside.
Where I do see the difference in performance is on the heavier and more flat patterns. My composite covers offered me a noticeable advantage there.
It's always fun to throw the new releases, no doubt about it. Sorry if my excitement is obvious. I'm just a regular Joe Bowler and can relate to most bowlers who don't average 230. When the bowler and a certain ball match up well it's fun to see them having fun...
