I am looking for input from those who have thrown a twisted fury solid, since there is very little information on here as far as reviews go.
I have been interested in this ball since it came out, but have waited to pick one up. With the deal going on at Bowlingball.com, now is as good a time as any to consider getting one. I currently bowl in two houses. My Wednesday night league is in a house with wood lanes with what I would consider to be a "medium" oil shot. I exclusively use my Twisted Fury (pearl) here with great success. Very rarely do I ever feel the need for another ball here.
My friday night league however is like night and day compared to the wednesday night league. Friday we bowl in a small house with synthetic lanes and what I would consider "Medium-Heavy" in terms of oil. Twisted Fury Pearl doesn't even come out of the bag on these nights. Carry is pathetic, ball just skids through the oil. Got a Maxxx Zone for my birthday about 2 months ago. Ball makes an enormous difference. Scores and average has gone up 5-6 pins over the past 7 weeks. Ball is clearly at its best during game one on a fresh shot. Game 3 it begins to burn up and pin carry suffers.
With the deal on the Twisted Solid, I'm considering picking it up to use for nights in the friday night house once the Maxxx becomes too much, and carry starts to suffer from the ball burning up. I'd like to know exactly what I should expect in terms of carry, ball reaction, similarities to the balls I currently use, etc. How similar is it to the Twisted (Pearl)? I'm assuming it will roll a bit earlier and handle a little more oil, but other info would be great!
