Ultra layout for a Brunswick newbie
« on: July 09, 2008, 11:09:31 PM »
I would like some layout options from the Big B experts here. My intention is to use this ball on tougher patterns. My Monday league is a "modified" THS and my Tuesday league is going to the Kegel challenge and sport patterns this season. The center has newer spl lanes and the backends are usually stripped squeaky. I would expect to use this ball on fresher conditions.

Thanks in advance...

Ball specs
15 lb 3 oz
3.2 oz top
2 inch pin

My specs
PAP 4 1/8 inch over 7/8 up
Track Diameter 11 1/4
Speed ~17.5 mph (Quibica)
Rev Rate ~325 (max)

For those of you having a slow day at the office, here are a couple videos of me.

I'm no expert, but if "tougher patterns" means plenty of oil, I'd go fairly strong with it as the hybrid cover is pretty easy to get down the lane. Your ball speed isn't lacking, and your track is lower, so I'd say definitely go pin below the fingers and maybe 4" from your PAP - with the MB close to 45*. That should get you close, then you can adjust the surface if needed.

I hope this gives you a starting point. Any other suggestions out there?

My PAP is 4 1/2 over 1/8 up but my speed is slower than yours.  I have mine drilled 4 5/8 pin down 60* mb.  It is my benchmark ball.  Its great on THS but I also like it on the Chameleon, Scorpion and 3 to 1 sport patterns.
