Current ball similar to the Radical Inferno?
« on: March 23, 2013, 12:40:53 PM »
Hey guys,

I'm looking for suggestions on a current ball (any company, but my girl seems to prefer Brunswick or Hammer) that is similar in specs what a Radical Inferno might have been.  She loved this ball before selling it in order to move down in weight from 15# to 14#.  Any suggestions will be appreciated.

BTW: I am going to post a similar thread in the Hammer forum as she also loved the onyx Vibe (which for both of us was very strong reacting for a Vibe)

If she liked the Radical, the Meanstreak does everything it did, but better.  My guess is that she'd play a similar part of the lane.  I cannot think of a new one that would be the same, because they have improved.

Now someone will undoubtedly look only at the "numbers" and disagree, but I've used them all, and to me the Meanstreak beats it hands down.  As a second choice the DV8 Diva is a great performer, too.

Possibly the new Torrid Elite?

Uses the same shapecore as the inferno line , is targeted for lighter conditions like the Radical Inferno and Radical is now being poured by brunswick/part of brunswick.

I remember the Radical Inferno being pretty long.  I'd go with the Marauder

thanks for your replies.  The local proshop guy also suggested both the Meanstreak and the Torrid.  The Diva.. is that the stronger of the 3?

Ive thrown all the balls in question and of all of them, the Torrid Elite rolls the most similar to the "older" Brunswicks ie. Zones and Infernos.  Torrid Elite reminded me personally of a cross between a Classic Zone and the Original Inferno.  Diva would be the strongest of the 3 for sure.  Shes very clean and angular.  The Meanstreak would also be a great choice but again much cleaner than the Torrid Elite
