Title: Danger Zone Blue Pin

I was wondering what's the difference between the red and blue pin Danger Zone?

If your referring to the DZs made like 15 years ago, it would indicate that the blue was one of the tour editions. I had one and was told the difference was that it was a urethane cover versus reactive. I remember throwing it and it would hook very little.

Are you talking about the 1996/7 Danger Zone and the Touring Edition 1 Blue Pin?

If so, it's a night and day difference.

That DZ had an average RG of 2.5 on a 1-10 scale and an RG Diff of.047" using the Power Koil 18 coverstock.

The DZ TE1 blue pin had an average RG of 8.6 and an RG Diff of .023" using the Power Koil 17 coverstock. It was at that time a light oil, go very long and flip hard at the backend type of ball, while the original DZ was for medium-heavy oil.

Today the blue pin would probably be equivalent to a Slingshot.

 

If you're talking about another DZ blue pin, then the above does not apply.

There was also a TE2 (power Koil 14) and a TE3, the orange pin, which was the urethane version.
