decisions decisions??

what ball would be better for wet/dry conditions, OI, rampage or power groove reactive? I have low ball speed about 15 and med. revs i'm a tweener I guess.

Really none of them unless, you drill them pin axis or something like that. All 3 of them can be hard off the spot and be prone to over/under with standard drillings on a wet/dry. There are alot better choices out there for wet/dry.

the bvp ambush may be just what you need. a ball with a low load pearlized particle coverstock will be more even arcing as it burns a little energy all the way down the lane. this will even out the reaction and reduce that over/under situation due to the lanes being so wet/dry. you could also try wetsanding a reactive ball very fine( say with a 2,000 or 4,000 grit abralon pad ) and use it without any polish. this ball would also be more even arcing.

I'd suggest the Wizard. The powerkoil cover reads the lane very early and if properly drilled (based on your PAP) this ball is very smooth. I like mine best at about 1200 wet sand. Even slightly polished it's very good.

Particle balls can be great, but require lots of maintenance because they absorb oil faster. They can also "burn up" if you get them on the dry boards too soon, due to increased friction. If your house shot is really that short of a pattern, a particle ball will get to the pocket very easily, and leave lots of corner pins because it has used all of its energy too soon.

thanks guys for all the info i have been using an old detonator particle ball however with not much success, i have a monster bruiser i'll try it at 1000 and see how that works thanks again!

I agree with using the Ambush to combat over/under conditions.Its pearlized/low load coverstock allows it to retain plenty of energy dowlane while maintaining a smooth arcing motion. I have 3, one drilled pin over and to right of ring, another pin below ring and a third for more difficult patterns 6 inches from my pap with the pin over the middle finger. All 3 of these balls can be used on over/under and drier conditions with great predictability and reading of the lanes.

Bruiser with the right drilling should be great.  I have one with a low pin (about half inch above grip midline) and it's at about 1000-1200 grit, and it's ridiculously smooth but has great carry because it isn't hooking at 10 feet.
