Wicked Siege 1st Night!
« on: October 18, 2010, 02:12:13 PM »
I received my Wicked Siege today from the nice people at Brunswick! The ball came with the specs of 15lb 4oz 2-3" pin 2.2oz top weight. After watching the video I decided on a dual angle layout of 45* x 4" x 30* which placed the pin above and on the outside edge of my ring finger or 1-1/4" from grip center line. The mb is 4-1/4" from my pap and I used a very small weight hole to get the side weight to 3/4+ and I didn't want to change the reaction of the ball. Our THS is a 39' crown and freshly stripped backends. I was standing with my left foot at 30 playing 18 out to 10 and the ball was easy and smooth through the heads with a strong move at the breakpoint. I should have used a different ball and play a tighter line, but I had to use my new marble. I had to move a little deeper about every 4 to 5 frames and go 235, 249. The last game I had to move deeper and my angle left me shooting 4 pins, 9 pins, and a 10 pin. I had to switch to my pin up Slingshot and moved my feet to 25 and played acrossed 13 for a 227 and 707 series. The Wicked Siege would make it back from just about anywhere and it wasn't so much a flip as a super strong arc. A guy bowling beside me said it looked like the ball got bigger at the backend. This ball is fun to roll and I hated to put it up the last few frames, but I knew I needed to make a switch and try to win the last game. I have pictures that I'll get posted and I'm planning on making a video comparing the Wicked, Evil, and CS 3.5 & 4.5! Thanks to Brian Bertsch at Brunswick for the Wicked Siege and it will be a keeper!!! Just my $.02, Bruce
